This cookie policy explains the site’s position on cookies, which is straightforward: Aries Portal sets no cookies. The rest of this page explains what that means and why there is no consent banner.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website can ask your browser to store on your device, often used to remember you between visits or to track your activity across sites. Cookies are common, but they are not required for a website to work, and this one does without them entirely.
This site sets no cookies
Aries Portal does not set any cookies of its own, and it does not allow any third party to set cookies through it. Concretely, this site uses:
- no analytics or measurement cookies (no Google Analytics or anything comparable);
- no advertising or marketing cookies, and no conversion or tracking pixels;
- no social-media embeds or share buttons that would set cookies;
- no session identifiers, and no “preferences” cookies.
Because nothing on this site sets a cookie, there is nothing for you to consent to, and so you will not see a cookie-consent banner here. A consent banner on a site that sets no cookies would itself be misleading, so we do not display one.
What happens instead
Two things are worth being clear about, because they are sometimes confused with cookies:
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records ordinary technical information when a page is requested — your IP address, browser user agent, the URL requested, and the date and time — for security and diagnostics. This happens at the server and does not involve a cookie or anything stored on your device. It is described in our privacy policy.
- Google Fonts. This site loads a web-font stylesheet from Google Fonts. When your browser requests the font files, Google receives your IP address as part of that request, but this does not set a cookie on your device. You can read more in the Google Privacy Policy.
No other browser storage, no fingerprinting
This site also uses no localStorage, no sessionStorage and no IndexedDB, and it does not attempt any form of browser fingerprinting. The only scripts on the site are small, first-party and readable, and they exist solely to run interface features such as the navigation menu. They store nothing.
Managing cookies in your browser
Even though this site sets none, you can control cookies for the web in general through your browser’s settings, where you can block or clear cookies and site data. The exact steps differ between Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, and each browser’s help pages explain how. Blocking cookies will have no effect on this site, since it does not use any.
If this ever changes
If we ever introduce a cookie — for any purpose — we will update this page to describe it accurately and put a working consent mechanism in place before any such cookie is set. Until you see that change here, you can take it that the site remains cookie-free.
